Pharmaceutical vials packed in an insulated cold-chain shipper

Enterprise pharma

Enterprise pharma: Stop writing off product that's still good

For manufacturers with global distribution: continuous monitoring, quality records that close automatically, and intervention before a deviation becomes a discarded batch.

The challenges

Six points where a pharma supply chain quietly loses product

Before shipment

Packaging specified for the worst case

With no lane history, the safe answer is always more: heavier shippers, more dry ice, more freight weight. It is insurance bought in cash on every shipment, including all the lanes that never needed it, and you never find out which ones those were.

Our solution

During shipment

Temperature excursions during transport

Product drifts outside its defined temperature range while it is on the move: a delayed transfer, a shipper left on the tarmac, a reefer that fails overnight. If the data is only read at destination, the excursion has already run its course and the only decision left is release or scrap.

Our solution

After shipment

Manual releases piling up

Every shipment in quarantine waits for a qualified person to work through its temperature file before the product can move. The queue grows with volume rather than with risk, so shipments on the busiest lanes wait longest, and the people doing the reading are exactly the ones you least want spending their day on it.

Our solution

What a managed solution means

Not software you are left to run. We stay on it with you

Most monitoring is assembled: a device from one supplier, software from another, and your own people watching the dashboard. We provide all three, from the first pilot lane through global rollout, and on every shipment after that.

Devices that monitor the entire supply chain, from pallets to units

A Saga device standing at an angle on a pale surface, its screen reading 20.5 °C with 75% battery and Signal OK above the Start and Stop controls

Saga device

Pallet to box · Reports on its own

A reusable cellular device for pallets and boxes. It reports temperature, location, and light events in real time, and is returned to us for servicing before it goes out again.

4 model types, −200 to +50 °C
  • Standard−20 to +50 °C
  • Arctic−30 to +30 °C
  • Dry Ice−95 to +50 °C

Saga Card

Pallet to secondary package · Reports on its own

A cellular tracker smaller than a credit card that travels inside the carton, so you keep visibility once the pallet is split. It reports location, and temperature where the use case needs it.

BLE label

Box to carton · Needs a reader or parent

A label for the carton that keeps its own log. A gateway or the Controlant App reads it at each handover, so you have evidence of an excursion or tampering, even when a device isn't returned.

Labels and indicators →

A phone camera scanning a WarmMark QR indicator on receipt: the card, marked Scan on receipt, Red indicates and Exposure above, framed on screen with Image captured and a Save scan button

Passive indicator

Carton to unit or dose · Needs a reader or parent

The WarmMark QR indicator: single use and battery free, down to the single pack. Scanning its code on receipt shows whether it was exposed above its limit, and our integration, in development, brings that reading into the Controlant platform.

What pharma companies have achieved with us

Questions about Enterprise pharma

How does a pilot start?

Start with one lane, running alongside your current monitoring, so you can compare two records of the same shipments. Devices arrive calibrated and configured to your temperature limits, and within the first few shipments the lane has a profile you can build a business case on.

Is the platform validated, and what does that mean for us?

Yes: to FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP Annex 11, under ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001, with the audit trail always on. GxP compliance stays yours; we give you a validated system to rely on inside it.

What happens when a shipment excurses?

An alarm is raised against the shipment's temperature limits, and our Monitoring and Response team acts on your quality team's work instructions while the product can still be saved. The intervention is logged on the same record as the shipment.

Can we get the data into our own systems?

Yes. Saga devices, third-party loggers, your ERP, TMS and WMS, and carrier milestones all land in one structure: pull it through the validated Integrations API, push it to your TMS, ERP or QMS by webhook, or receive it in your data lake daily through delta sharing.

Start with a pilot lane, or test the device first

A pilot runs one of your lanes end to end with our team, alongside the monitoring you use today. If you would rather start smaller, Controlant Go puts two pre-configured Saga devices on your shipments, free of charge and with nothing to implement.
