Saga Cryogenic

Saga Cryogenic: Cryogenic monitoring down to −200 °C

Built for cell and gene therapies shipped in liquid nitrogen: the probe reads down to −200 °C inside the shipper, while the Saga Cryogenic device rides outside it.

Key capabilities

  1. −200 °C operation

    The PR-T80 probe, calibrated at −196, −80, −40 and 0 °C, monitors liquid-nitrogen shipments in real time.

  2. Cell and gene therapy ready

Location, temperature, and light tracking for the most valuable therapies.

  3. Validated for the life sciences supply chain

Validated monitoring with a complete audit trail, on the same platform as the rest of the lane.

Specifications

Limited range

The probe reads to −200 °C. The device itself rides outside the liquid nitrogen at −20 to +50 °C; between −30 and −20 °C it still logs, with reduced battery life, but stops reporting in real time.

Battery life

Set the wake-up interval, read the days

A fully charged device on the interval shown reports in real time and raises alarms for at least this long while monitoring a shipment inside its operating range. Below 5% charge it hibernates: it keeps logging to memory and stops reporting until recharged.

In the cold

For the most extreme cold chains

Cell and gene therapies travel in liquid nitrogen, and until Saga Cryogenic, monitoring them in real time was nearly impossible. The reusable device tracks temperature, location, and light exposure with full GxP compliance, and the cryogenic probe has an operating range from −200 °C to +50 °C.

That range covers cryogenic transport and cryogenic storage, so traceability, regulatory compliance, and product safety hold across both rather than stopping at the loading dock.

Device management is handled

Return logistics, calibration, and servicing are ours to run, which keeps a device and its probe in circulation rather than in a drawer.

Questions about Saga Cryogenic

How cold can Saga Cryogenic measure?

The PR-T80 probe reads to −200 °C. It is calibrated at −196, −80, −40 and 0 °C on the probe, and accurate to ±1.4 °C from −200 to −90 °C and ±1 °C from −90 to 0 °C.

Where does the device sit in a liquid nitrogen shipper?

Outside it, in its own −20 to +50 °C band, with only the probe in the cold. Between −30 and −20 °C the device still logs, with reduced battery life, but stops reporting in real time.

Is it the same device as Saga Dry Ice?

Same Saga-P housing and the same PR-T80 probe. What differs is the calibration and the accuracy bands: Cryogenic is calibrated at −196, −80, −40 and 0 °C on the probe and reads to −200 °C; Dry Ice stops at a −80 °C point and reads to −95 °C.
